Talk to us, or come and visit
Please call, and we will be pleased to arrange a visit or answer any questions you have.
What happens when you call
Choosing a care home is a big decision, and it’s easier once you’ve been through the door. We can arrange trial visits, short-term breaks and long-term stays.
Every situation is different, so for fees and funding please call us and we will talk it through with you.
A conversation on the phone
A member of our care team talks with you by telephone, to check that we can meet your or your loved one’s needs.
A face-to-face assessment
We arrange a time and date that suits you to meet in person.
A plan for moving in
We create a plan with you or your loved one, and each resident’s room is personalised for them at the start of their stay.

Questions families often ask
Can’t see your question? Please call us, and we will be glad to help.
Can we arrange a trial visit or a short stay?
Yes. We can arrange trial visits, short-term breaks (sometimes known as respite care) and long-term, permanent stays. The choice is yours.
Is Highbarrow a nursing home?
No. Highbarrow is a residential care home, with support from local district nurses and GPs. When someone needs nursing or medical input, we work alongside them and other professionals.
When can family and friends visit?
We welcome family and friends during the day and in the evenings. We ask that visits at meal times are only made in specific circumstances. If you would like to have lunch or dinner with a family member, please speak to a senior member of the care team.
What are the fees?
Every situation is different, so please call us and we will talk it through with you.
How do I give feedback or make a complaint?
Your feedback is important to us. If you have a concern or a complaint, or would like to give feedback, please contact the Home Manager or Regional Manager. A copy of our complaints policy is available on request.
How does Highbarrow keep people safe?
Highbarrow is dedicated to keeping the people in our service and community safe and free from harm or abuse. Our safeguarding policy is available on request. If you have a concern about someone’s safety, please raise it straight away with the Home Manager or Regional Manager.
What happens to my personal information?
Personal data is collected only for specified, explicit and legitimate purposes, kept for no longer than necessary, and kept secure in line with government guidance. To find out what we hold, or to ask for a copy of our policy, please contact the manager.
